About the role#
The Student Technologist in the Huisking Instructional Technology Resource Center (ITRC) supports faculty, staff, and students with classroom technology and software. This position involves providing on-site support, performing equipment maintenance, and assisting with digital accessibility projects. This is a paid, on-site role for Saint Mary's students.
What you'll do#
- Assist faculty and students with the use of instructional technology and respond to campus support calls.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with hardware and software, documenting problems and solutions.
- Install, remove, and maintain classroom equipment such as projectors, control panels, and audio devices.
- Provide training on software, digital accessibility, and instructional tools.
- Manage equipment loans by verifying the condition of items before and after use.
- Support course building and testing in Blackboard, edit video captions in Kaltura, and assist with digital accessibility projects.
What you'll need#
- Knowledge of computer technologies, including projectors, monitors, webcams, and microphones.
- Basic understanding of instructional technology and troubleshooting processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Availability to arrive on campus one week before the academic year begins for training.
- Enrollment as a Saint Mary's student is required.
