About the role#
Sagard Private Equity Canada is looking for an intern to join the team in Montreal or Toronto for the Winter 2027 term. This position runs from January to April 2027. You will work with the team to partner with Canadian mid-market companies as they develop into market leaders. This role offers exposure to the investment process and the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on live transactions.
What you'll do#
- Support the sourcing, screening, and evaluation of new investment opportunities.
- Assist in the execution of due diligence for prospective investments.
- Contribute to company valuation and investment structuring analysis.
- Build and maintain financial models to support investment decisions.
- Prepare presentations and investment memos for the Investment Committee.
- Support portfolio management activities, including performance tracking and ad hoc analysis.
What you'll need#
- Currently in the second or third year of a Bachelor of Business Administration or a related program.
- Strong academic performance.
- Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous internship experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or consulting is considered an asset.
- For positions in Montreal, proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written, is mandatory. English is required for all roles due to regular interaction with colleagues and external partners outside of Quebec.
