About the role#
We are looking for an analytical individual to join the Portage team in Toronto as an Investment Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position where you will help our team identify and evaluate new companies in the financial services sector.
What you'll do#
- Support our portfolio companies by assisting with key initiatives.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis, including market sizing, pricing, and competitive research.
- Monitor and analyze the performance metrics of our portfolio companies over time.
- Perform commercial, financial, and product due diligence for potential investments.
- Build investment theses for specific companies and sectors to help identify industry trends.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in investments and technology.
- Ability to work as a self-starter who can prioritize tasks with limited guidance.
- Comfort working in an ambitious environment where priorities shift.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in structuring quantitative analysis and working with numbers.
- Strong written and oral communication skills to synthesize thoughts about markets and companies.

- This role is based on-site in Toronto, Ontario.
- The internship term is Winter 2027.
- This is a full-time, paid position at a rate of CAD $90,000 per year.
