About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern at S&B, you will perform routine assignments under the supervision of senior engineers and specialists. This role focuses on applying standard design techniques and procedures to support various projects. You will work within a multi-discipline team and participate in daily face-to-face interactions to help deliver project goals.
What you'll do#
- Prepare basic design sketches and perform calculations to support design activities.
- Conduct field trips to existing plants to gather equipment information and operating data.
- Assist in the preparation of equipment specifications, inquiry documents, and purchase requisitions.
- Evaluate vendor bids and drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Contribute to the development of equipment lists, piping line lists, and specialty item lists.
- Help prepare design guides, guide specifications, and contract proposals.
- Participate in plant start-up activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies.
- Working knowledge of computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
