About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will perform routine assignments under the close supervision of senior engineers. You will apply standard design techniques and procedures to support various projects. This role involves working within a multi-discipline team and requires regular face-to-face interaction with colleagues in an office setting.
What you'll do#
- Prepare basic design sketches and perform engineering calculations.
- Visit existing plants to collect operating data and equipment information.
- Gather data to assist in the preparation of equipment specifications, purchase requisitions, and inquiries.
- Review vendor bids and drawings to ensure they meet project specifications.
- Help prepare equipment lists, piping line lists, and specialty item lists.
- Contribute to the development of design guides, guide specifications, and contract proposals.
- Participate in plant start-up activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies.
- A working knowledge of computer software and automated engineering design equipment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
