About the role#
As an Instrument and Controls Engineer Intern, you will perform routine assignments under close supervision. You will apply standard design techniques and procedures to support project goals. This role requires daily interaction with your team, including face-to-face meetings and collaborative work, to ensure successful project delivery.
What you'll do#
- Prepare design sketches and perform engineering calculations.
- Visit existing plants to collect operating data and equipment information.
- Gather data to assist in the preparation of equipment specifications, inquiries, and purchase requisitions.
- Review vendor bids and drawings to check for compliance.
- Contribute to equipment lists, load summaries, design guides, and contract proposals.
- Support plant start-ups and other field assignments.
- Work alongside a multi-discipline team to complete projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor degree program for Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies.
- Working knowledge of computer software and automated engineering design tools.
- Previous internship experience is a plus.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Schedule: Full-time with a hybrid work model.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Physical requirements: You may occasionally visit operating plants or construction sites, which requires the ability to walk, climb, and lift up to 25 pounds.
