About the role#
This internship focuses on state and local tax services. You will work with diverse clients to understand their business challenges and tax requirements. You will be part of a team, contributing to multiple engagements throughout your time with the firm. This position is a paid, full-time role.
What you'll do#
- Integrate state and local tax services with existing client accounts.
- Complete tax planning and research tasks.
- Develop an understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
- Review current tax processes to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with client information technology personnel to analyze historical data for reporting, audit procedures, and potential tax credits.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited accounting degree program.
- Completion of at least 90 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- An anticipated full-time associate start date of Fall 2029 or Winter 2030.
- A minimum GPA of 3.4 is preferred.
- Ability to travel to client locations as required.

This is an on-site position located in Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, McLean, Dallas, Tampa, New York, or Charlotte. Please note that RSM does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
