About the role#
This position combines the Elevate early career program with a Tax Internship. Elevate is a development experience for accounting students that includes a three-day leadership conference in January 2027. You will build relationships with firm leaders and peers while strengthening skills in communication, collaboration, and professional presence. Following the conference, you will participate in ongoing development experiences. By applying for this program, you are also applying for a client service internship where you will work with various companies to support their tax and accounting needs.
What you'll do#
- Assess risks and evaluate the internal control structure of clients.
- Perform substantive tests and tests of internal controls.
- Identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
- Draft financial statements using prescribed formats.
- Develop a working understanding of RSM audit approaches and tools.
- Build professional relationships with clients by understanding their business challenges.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited accounting degree program.
- Completion of 90 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Demonstrated leadership and involvement in student organizations.
- A minimum 3.4 GPA is preferred.
- Ability to travel to client locations as required.
- Motivation to work in a team-oriented environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $34 to $40 per hour.
