About the role#
The Elevate Program and Assurance Internship is a dual-track opportunity. It begins with the Elevate program, a leadership experience for accounting students. You will participate in a three-day conference and ongoing development to build skills in communication, business acumen, and networking. Following this, you will transition into an Assurance internship, where you will work with various companies to understand their businesses and challenges.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate on teams focused on tax specialty areas, including corporate taxation, private client services, and not-for-profit organizations.
- Conduct tax research and planning.
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Apply your understanding of accounting pronouncements and tax regulations.
- Work on multiple client engagements to gain exposure to different parts of an assignment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited accounting degree program.
- Completion of at least 90 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- A minimum 3.4 GPA is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and involvement in student organizations or community groups.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to work in a team environment.
Location & details#
- The role is based in Chicago, Illinois.
- This is an on-site, full-time position.
- Compensation is $34 to $40 per hour.
- Travel to client locations is required, and you must have access to reliable transportation.
- This role does not offer sponsorship for work authorization.
