About the role#
We are offering a 3-month internship as a Hydrogeologist at Rio Tinto Kennecott in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role involves working within an international team of technical specialists. You will contribute to our mining operations while gaining experience in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the development and execution of dewatering and depressurization strategies.
- Maintain safety, cost, and performance standards.
- Plan and budget for drilling and well installation, operations, and day-to-day activities.
What you'll need#
- At least one year completed in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Current registration as a student at a recognized American university.
- Right to work full-time in the United States.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Leadership skills, flexibility, and autonomy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
- Eagerness to learn.
- Experience in MS3D and/or Leapfrog software is preferred.
