About the role#
This is a 3-month internship opportunity based in Salt Lake City, Utah, within the Rio Tinto Exploration team. You will work on-site in an environment that focuses on technical data and tools. The role provides exposure to a variety of exploration activities and hands-on experience with projects in the United States.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to field geologic mapping.
- Perform core logging and sampling.
- Assist with data analysis and geologic modelling.
- Work within a team on greenfields exploration projects.
What you'll need#
- At least one year completed in a Geology, Geoscience, or related degree program.
- Status as a registered student at a recognized American university.
- A genuine interest in mineral exploration and a desire to learn.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Initiative and a willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Adaptability and a positive attitude.
- A commitment to safety and responsible work practices.
- Legal right to work full-time in the United States.
- A valid driver license.
