About the role#
This internship supports the Manufacturing Engineering group in San Diego. You will work on specific projects or tasks under the guidance of a Manufacturing Engineer. This is a full-time, paid role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Complete project and process development tasks.
- Measure products using standard metrology practices.
- Analyze data using statistical techniques.
- Design, procure, and fabricate tooling and fixtures.
- Create and update manufacturing process documentation.
- Support process and equipment validations including IQ, OQ, PQ, MVP, and TMV.
- Identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions.
- Create training materials for manufacturing processes and equipment maintenance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to communicate project status updates to management and teams.
- Familiarity with formal problem-solving techniques like 5 Whys or cause and effect analysis.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and align with stakeholders.
- Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, 13485, or FDA Part 820 is preferred.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and using GD&T is preferred.
- Ability to create 2D and 3D CAD models is preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Pay Range: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour.
