This transaction was Repsol's first foray into the U.S. renewables market. In 2024, Repsol made another strategic acquisition of ConnectGen from Quantum Capital Group. Repsol Renewables Services North America (“RRSNA”) is targeting to own and operate 3-4 GW of renewable capacity in North America by 2027.RRSNA is seeking a Transmission Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team and support the company's growing portfolio of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects across the United States. This role will provide exposure to transmission planning, interconnection processes, power system studies, and grid integration activities that are critical to the successful development and operation of renewable energy projects.If you are passionate about working in a global, inclusive, and collaborative team to provide innovative and sustainable solutions for RRSNA and the communities we serve, we want to hear from you.This is a twelve (12) week program starting May 17, 2027 – August 6, 2027, in Downtown Houston.Key Responsibilities:Support the Transmission Engineering team in evaluating transmission systems and grid interconnection opportunities for utility-scale renewable energy projects.Assist with transmission planning studies, interconnection requests, and grid impact assessments.Analyze transmission system data, power flow results, and project-specific technical requirements.Support the review of transmission service agreements, interconnection agreements, and utility requirements.Assist in evaluating transmission constraints, congestion impacts, and available transmission capacity.Participate in the review of power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, and stability analyses.Support the development and maintenance of transmission project databases, tracking tools, and technical documentation.Assist with utility and Independent System Operator (ISO/RTO) correspondence and data requests.Collaborate with Development, Engineering, Project Management, and Regulatory teams to support project advancement.Participate in technical meetings with utilities, consultants, and project stakeholders.Prepare reports, presentations, and analyses summarizing transmission-related findings and recommendations.Support due diligence efforts for project acquisitions and development opportunities.Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work/student visa.Enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.Coursework in power systems, transmission systems, power generation, electrical machines, or related disciplines preferred.Basic understanding of electric transmission systems, substations, and power system operations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Ability to be self-motivated with strong attention to detail.Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as independently.Exemplary standards of integrity, safety, ethics, quality, and productivity.Repsol is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran
