About the role#
As a Data Engineering intern, you will help build the data infrastructure that powers analytics and decision-making across Texas Instruments. You will gain experience with cloud platforms and data technologies while transforming raw data into insights. This role involves work on machine learning pipelines, big data processing, and automated data workflows.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows for processing datasets from multiple sources.
- Build and optimize data models, schemas, and databases to ensure efficient storage and accessibility.
- Perform data cleaning, validation, and quality checks to provide reliable data for analytical use.
- Use SQL, Python, and tools like Spark to support data flows and data science initiatives.
- Collaborate with data engineers and business teams to understand requirements and contribute to solutions.
- Monitor data infrastructure performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Document pipelines, data models, and transformation logic.
- Support the implementation of software engineering practices like testing and monitoring.
- Learn about emerging data technologies and support architecture improvements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher.
- Coursework or project experience with Python, Java, or SQL.
- Basic understanding of database concepts and data manipulation.
- Exposure to big data platforms, cloud services, or machine learning concepts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate across functions.
- Time management skills for project delivery.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
