    About the role#

    Repsol is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage projects. You will work within our Renewables Services North America team to help reach our capacity goals. This is a full-time, paid 12-week program.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the design and execution of renewable energy projects.
    • Review electrical drawings, specifications, and design packages for solar, wind, and storage facilities.
    • Perform engineering calculations for power systems and electrical equipment.
    • Create and review single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and cable schedules.
    • Evaluate equipment including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and battery systems.
    • Analyze system performance data and assist with troubleshooting electrical issues.
    • Participate in design reviews and cross-functional engineering meetings.
    • Assist with commissioning, testing, and startup activities for renewable facilities.
    • Conduct site visits to support construction and field engineering tasks.
    • Maintain project documentation, reports, and engineering records.
    • Prepare technical presentations and updates for project stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and equipment manufacturers.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an accredited Bachelor or Master degree program in Electrical Engineering.
    • A basic understanding of electrical principles, power systems, and renewable technologies.
    • Preferred coursework includes power systems, electrical machines, circuits, or controls.
    • Experience with software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, PVSyst, or MATLAB is a plus.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • A commitment to integrity, safety, and high-quality work.
    • You must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

    Location & details#

    • This position is based in Downtown Houston, Texas.
    • The program runs from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027.
    • The role is on-site.
    • You must be able to travel periodically to project sites throughout the United States, including stays of multiple weeks if required.
