About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in sourcing, purchasing, and managing capital equipment for renewable energy projects. You will work alongside the Procurement, Engineering, and Construction teams to support strategic sourcing and supplier management. This is a 12-week, full-time program running from May 17, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the procurement team in sourcing construction, operational, and technical equipment.
- Assist in developing and executing sourcing strategies for major purchases and long-lead items.
- Conduct market research to identify qualified manufacturers and service providers.
- Help prepare and evaluate Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Quotation (RFQ), and bid packages.
- Analyze supplier quotes and support commercial evaluations.
- Create purchase orders and track deliveries to keep projects on schedule.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Construction teams to confirm equipment specifications.
- Participate in supplier meetings, negotiations, and performance reviews.
- Assist with contract administration and monitor vendor compliance.
- Maintain procurement records, databases, and pricing information.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities and cost-saving initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Interest in procurement, capital projects, or the renewable energy industry.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with internal and external partners.
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems like SAP, Ariba, or Oracle is preferred.
- Knowledge of procurement principles or contract management is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
