About the role#
As a Financial Analyst Intern on the FP&A team, you will play a hands-on role during a phase of growth as Relay scales. You will report to the Manager of FP&A and help build the forecasting and reporting engine that informs decisions across the company. You will work directly with senior business leaders on the problems that come with scaling a company, including measuring success, driving the annual operating plan, and building deliverables for the board, investors, and lenders.
What you'll do#
- Partner with business leaders to quantify, plan, and pressure-test strategic shifts.
- Drive the annual operating plan and long-range plan end-to-end.
- Automate data ingestion, reporting, and reconciliation using AI tools.
- Develop analyses, scorecards, and recommendations for the executive team.
- Prepare board, investor, and lender materials.
- Define and track KPIs while maintaining dashboards.
- Build and improve driver-based financial models.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on operating expense planning and analysis.
- Produce monthly operating scorecards and variance packages.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Previous internship experience in a rigorous, analytically demanding environment.
- Strong Excel and Google Sheets financial modeling skills.
- Fluency with modern AI tooling.
- A bias for action and an owner mentality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A relationship-oriented approach and high standards of integrity.
- A strong academic record.
- Familiarity with US GAAP is a plus.
