About the role#
This is a 4-month student placement within Group Risk Management. You will assist a team of Data Scientists, Engineers, and Analysts in performing Risk Analytics. This role combines business and technical skills to ensure Operational Risk monitoring and management needs are met.
What you'll do#
- Partner with Operational Risk subject matter experts to understand their needs and ensure analytics requirements are met.
- Assist in the documentation of end-to-end project requirements, including metric logic.
- Create and execute test cases to perform QA against developing analytics.
- Manage a moderate number of applications, including business rules and processes, to provide solutions and support during production problems.
- Identify application deficiencies and recommend solutions to the support team and the business.
- Conduct accurate and timely investigations when issues occur.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a program such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Leadership acumen and a self-driven, analytical mindset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience creating and running Python scripts.
- A strong attention to detail and a motivated approach to your work.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Toronto, Ontario.
- The term runs from January 2027 to April 2027.
- Work arrangements include hybrid, on-site, and remote options, to be discussed with the hiring manager.
- Candidates must be located within Ontario for the duration of the work term.
- Eligibility requires that you are returning to school after the work term or that the 4-month placement is a mandatory component of your graduation requirements.
