About the role#
This internship is a 10-week summer program within the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Client Intelligence Unit. You will work with a team dedicated to protecting clients and the firm from financial crimes. You will follow established procedures to handle complex cases, learn to apply compliance techniques, and contribute to various team projects.
What you'll do#
- Conduct reviews of new and existing clients to identify adverse media or political exposures.
- Perform ad hoc reviews on potential clients.
- Verify client information for newly opened accounts.
- Shadow the Enhanced Due Diligence team to learn high-risk review processes.
- Assist with projects across AML functions.
- Prepare and deliver a presentation to leadership regarding your work.
- Use office software and equipment to complete daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Junior or senior standing in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Criminal Justice.
- Basic knowledge of securities industry compliance, AML laws, and finance concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and professional office practices.
- Ability to research using internal and external resources.
- Skill in analyzing data, identifying trends, and preparing written reports.
- Ability to summarize complex information and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
