About the role#
As an Audit Intern, you will join our Assurance practice to support financial statement audits. You will work alongside experienced auditors to gain exposure to client support initiatives and professional work environments. This role focuses on helping clients maintain transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements while you build your understanding of financial reporting and audit methodologies.
What you'll do#
- Support audit teams in conducting financial statement audits.
- Review and verify financial documents to ensure compliance.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights.
- Document audit processes and findings to keep records organized.
- Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
- Collaborate with team members to monitor trends and assess risk.
- Evaluate internal controls and suggest areas for improvement.
- Use data analysis skills to support audit quality.
- Observe and learn from experienced auditors during client interactions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- An overall GPA of at least 3.0 (a 3.5 GPA is preferred).
- You must meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam prior to starting full-time employment.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to apply auditing methodologies.
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation.
- Background in participating in external audit processes and internal controls.
