About the role#
The Student Office Coordinator (SOC) role supports the daily operations of University Residences. You will serve as a point of contact for residents and staff while ensuring office procedures run smoothly. This position requires availability for a weekly on-call rotation and desk shifts that include days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. You must be available to return to campus on January 7, 2026, for training and remain through the week following finals in May.
What you'll do#
- Manage and post student office schedules.
- Train and supervise student office staff, including coaching and disciplinary actions.
- Provide coverage at resident hall main offices.
- Handle check-in and check-out procedures for residents and equipment.
- Manage keys, safe access, and hall property with high security.
- Submit maintenance requests and respond to emergencies.
- Report policy violations and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Attend all required staff meetings.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment at Purdue University.
- Completion of at least one semester of college coursework.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependability, organization, and attention to detail.
- Previous work experience within University Residences or prior leadership experience is preferred.
