About the role#
Progressive Companies offers a paid, full-time summer internship for students interested in civil engineering. You will work alongside mentors on real client projects to gain experience in design, engineering, and construction. The role involves collaborating with project managers and engineers to complete plan designs and production for various civil engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the project team to help meet project schedules and budgets.
- Provide drafting services and final engineering documents that meet company standards.
- Assist in preparing calculations and analyses for storm water management, sanitary sewer, water supply and distribution, roadways, and traffic studies.
- Prepare construction permitting documents.
- Compile crash data at intersections and prepare collision diagrams.
- Use software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation to create design documents for site plans, utility plans, road design, and grading plans.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an EAC/ABET-accredited Civil or Environmental Engineering Bachelor degree program.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies by Summer 2027.
- Strong math, analytical, design, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the project team.
