About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside project managers and engineers to design electrical systems for various building types. This is a paid, full-time summer position where you will gain hands-on experience in a multi-disciplinary firm. You will participate in client projects, site visits, and educational sessions while learning the tools and methods used in the architecture and engineering field.
What you'll do#
- Design electrical systems for a variety of project building types.
- Prepare design documents for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems, and communications.
- Assist in preparing building models, contract documents, and photometric lighting simulations.
- Check code compliance information as it relates to the discipline.
- Use design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and lighting simulation tools for production purposes.
- Collaborate with project teams to meet schedules and budgets.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an EAC/ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s degree program.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies by Summer 2027.
- Basic knowledge of sustainability and current trends in the design and construction industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
