About the role#
As a Land Surveying Intern at CAGE Engineering, you will join our survey team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on real client projects from your first day. You will develop technical skills in field data collection and survey drafting while building professional skills through hands-on training. You will be paired with a mentor and have access to weekly office hours to meet one-on-one with company leaders.
What you'll do#
- Assist survey crews with field data collection, including boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys.
- Support the preparation of boundary retracement, ALTA/NSPS, and topographic surveys.
- Help process field data and prepare survey drawings using survey and CAD software.
- Research deeds, plats, and public records to support boundary and title work.
- Assist with quality control checks on field data and drafted deliverables.
- Participate in client and project team meetings to discuss findings, timelines, and budgets.
- Attend technical and professional development training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Comfort working outdoors and in the field as part of a crew.
- Strong desire to learn and advance your technical skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and accept constructive criticism.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
