About the role#
As a Construction Management Intern with CAGE Engineering, you will join our Development Services & Construction Management team to work on real client projects. You will develop technical skills in construction coordination and site oversight while building professional skills through daily training. You will work with an assigned mentor throughout the summer and have access to optional weekly office hours to meet one-on-one with company leaders.
What you'll do#
- Assist with organizing and preparing for pre-construction meetings.
- Support coordination between engineers and consultants to integrate work with project schedules.
- Help with estimating, scheduling, drawing review, and budget tracking.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating contractors.
- Review development agreements and pay applications.
- Support project site supervision and site visits.
- Assist with the project closeout process.
- Learn and follow the company safety program in all project phases.
- Take part in daily on-the-spot training.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exposure to project scheduling programs is a plus.
- Strong desire to learn and advance technical skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and accept constructive criticism.
- Comfort working outdoors and on active job sites.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
- Current, valid driver's license in your state of residence.
- Focused, motivated, and results-oriented approach.
