About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join the Engine System Software organization for the Summer 2027 term. This role supports the development and certification of gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. You will work on-site in East Hartford, Connecticut, as part of a full-time internship program.
What you'll do#
- Develop software requirements and designs within the Agile framework, including decomposing system-level requirements.
- Document traceability and rationale for all derived requirements and designs.
- Conduct iterative prototype testing and perform reviews of software designs.
- Execute software verification tasks, such as regression analysis, electronic bench testing, and robustness testing.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including planning, estimating, and tracking tasks.
- Produce necessary software requirement specifications and verification reports.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or advanced degree program in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Active enrollment status through the completion of the internship session.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary and multi-project team environment.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
