About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is hiring a Software Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in Tucson, Arizona, and requires full-time, on-site attendance. You will join the Effectors Center within the Software Engineering organization to work on flight software applications for complex systems like missiles and launchers. This role involves working on problems with defined scope, schedules, and expectations.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the requirements, design, development, and testing of real-time embedded software and application tools.
- Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
- Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineering professionals.
- Follow established development practices to maintain configuration management for software products.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or advanced degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Cybersecurity.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Experience with C, C++, or Java, gained through coursework, projects, research, or previous work.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government-issued security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
