About the role#
This position supports the instructional program for Exceptional Student Education (ESE) students. You will work under the supervision of teachers to provide classroom support, manage student behavior, and assist with daily educational activities.
What you'll do#
- Reinforce instruction for individual students and small groups.
- Prepare instructional materials, bulletin boards, and art projects.
- Assist with clerical tasks such as grading papers, filing, collecting forms, and maintaining records.
- Supervise students during meal times, field trips, bus loading, and special programs.
- Use technology to help with assigned tasks and enhance student learning.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- At least 60 college credit hours, an Associate degree or higher, or a passing score on the Para Pro exam.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Capability to speak and write clearly while maintaining professional relationships with staff and parents.
- Preference is given to candidates who are bilingual or biliterate.
- A sincere interest in working with and educating exceptional children.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Lake Alfred, Florida.
- The position is full-time and on-site.
- Work involves sitting for most of the day, with some standing and walking. You must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds regularly and 40 pounds or more with assistance when needed.
