About the role#
Chesapeake Public Schools offers a full-time internship for students in a graduate-level school psychology program. This position provides professional educational and psychological services under the supervision of a credentialed school psychologist. The internship requires 1,200 hours over one academic year and satisfies National Association of School Psychologists requirements. Interns participate in professional development and training alongside current practitioners.
What you'll do#
- Provide classroom interventions and support for students.
- Perform psychological-educational assessments, including data collection and analysis.
- Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, students, and administrators.
- Provide individual and group counseling services.
- Participate in eligibility, Child Find, and pre-referral meetings to help determine student needs.
- Assist the Crisis Response team as needed.
- Coordinate community resources to support students and families.

- Current enrollment in a graduate-level school psychology program.
- A current resume.
- Academic transcripts.

- Location: Chesapeake, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
