About the role#
The Accounting Intern position offers exposure to financial business models and the accounting operations of a large-scale biofuel producer. You will work with the Financial Reporting, Accounting, and Tax teams to support daily, monthly, and year-end reporting tasks. This role is based on-site in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and is a full-time commitment for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Prepare financial analysis and research variances to reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist with audits by applying internal control policies.
- Analyze financial data to support cash strategies.
- Design, streamline, and improve financial reporting processes.
- Prepare tax returns and tax provisions for the company's multifaceted group of entities.
- Complete data validation and build ad hoc reports using financial software.
- Maintain confidential files and databases.
- Review current tax theories and legislation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- You must be within 1-2 years of graduation.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with the basics of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
