About the role#
This 10-week summer internship offers students experience in manufacturing operations, quality systems, and process optimization. You will contribute to projects that impact business results while working alongside manufacturing, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams. The program runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support manufacturing and quality improvement projects to enhance efficiency and product performance.
- Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, risks, and root causes.
- Assist with process validation, quality investigations, audits, and corrective actions.
- Use Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies to support continuous improvement.
- Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to share your findings.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend ways to reduce waste and improve quality.
- Conduct research on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Present your project outcomes and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Participate in safety, compliance, and risk mitigation efforts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time bachelor's degree program with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or Supply Chain, Operations, or Quality Management.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Interest in manufacturing operations, quality systems, and process optimization.
- Experience with Power BI, statistical software, or data visualization tools is a plus, as is familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma concepts.

- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- The role follows a hybrid work model.
- Locations include Wilson, NC; Aurora, CO; and Owensboro, KY.
