About the role#
The Purchasing Intern provides general support to the Purchasing department. You will assist with tasks, assignments, and projects related to purchasing functions at Perry Homes. This is a paid, full-time summer internship.
What you'll do#
- Shadow Purchasing Agents to learn about the negotiation process and rebate agreements for major vendors and contractors.
- Help establish pricing and costs for the Estimating Department.
- Compare and evaluate the market for potential new contractors and vendors.
- Review bids for accuracy.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university.
- High School Diploma.
- Computer skills with a working knowledge of MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
