Engineering Student

About the role#

PCL Construction is seeking Engineering Students for the Toronto District within the Canadian Buildings Division. This is a paid, full-time position available for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms. You will gain hands-on experience through challenging assignments in an on-site construction environment.

What you'll do#

• Coordinate drawings, work-specific scopes, and trade quote reviews, including verifying material quantities, hours, and rates.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain project records.
• Input and update deficiency logs and issue warranties.
• Produce as-built drawings and perform quantity takeoffs.
• Coordinate and supervise sub-trade work while verifying site conditions against drawings.
• Capture progress photos and update field drawings.
• Assist with site layout using total station equipment.
• Maintain and update project schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM and AutoCAD software.
• Monitor workforce productivity and obtain scheduling information from sub-trades.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Environmental, or Computer Engineering, or Architecture.
• A strong desire to work in a construction environment; prior field experience is an asset.
• Proficiency in computer software, specifically word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting programs.
• Ability to work on-site in Toronto, Ontario.

• Compensation: $21.37 - $31.33 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
