About the role#
PCL Construction is seeking an Engineering Student for the Canadian Buildings Division in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a full-time, paid position for the Fall 2026 term, with opportunities for 4 or 8-month placements starting in September 2026. This role is strictly on-site.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate drawings, work scopes, and trade quote reviews, including verifying material quantities, rates, and hours.
- Participate in project meetings and maintain deficiency logs and warranties.
- Produce as-built drawings and update field drawings using progress photos.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and verify site conditions against project drawings.
- Supervise sub-trade work and maintain project record-keeping.
- Set up and maintain site lines and grades using total station equipment.
- Create and update project schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM and AutoCAD.
- Monitor workforce productivity on-site.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or Architecture or Business Administration.
- A strong desire to work in a construction environment.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting software.
- Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.
