    About the role#

    The Blue CoLab is a student-run, faculty-supervised environmental monitoring program. We are looking for an intern to join the Gale Epstein Center for Technology, Policy, and the Environment for the Fall 2026 term. You will work on-site at the Gale Epstein Center Data Lab, our technology lab in Ossining, and at Choate Pond on the Pleasantville campus. This role requires working in a team environment with students and faculty, and you should be comfortable working on-site in various locations.

    What you'll do#

    • Configure, deploy, and operate data collection stations in the water and other environments.
    • Manage backend infrastructure for real-time data management.
    • Monitor the performance of equipment and services.
    • Develop training programs for students and professionals.
    • Build internet-enabled tools and websites.
    • Support student teams, including Blue CoLab courses and the UN Millennium Fellowship program.
    • Help with marketing, events, and communication tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • Experience with programming, debugging, and technical troubleshooting.
    • Experience with database programming and management.
    • Experience developing and maintaining web applications, mobile applications, and APIs.
    • Familiarity with project management, source control, and development tools like GitHub.
    • An aptitude for learning new technologies.
    • Willingness to work in a hands-on environment.
    • Familiarity with the Blue CoLab or the United Nations Millennium Fellowship program is helpful.

    Location & details#

    • Locations: Pleasantville, NY and Ossining, NY.
    • Term: September 2026 to December 2026.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week during the semester, or up to 35 hours per week during breaks.
    • This position is paid.
