About the role#
Southwest Power Pool is looking for a Summer 2027 IT Intern to join the Corporate Applications team. You will design, develop, and maintain custom front-end and back-end applications. These tools support internal operations, compliance, data transfer, and physical security. This role offers hands-on experience with our systems while you collaborate with experienced professionals on real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and maintain custom applications.
- Complete assignments supporting stakeholder committees, settlements, data services, reliability systems, market services, and IT support.
- Contribute technical support to help project groups meet critical deadlines.
- Deliver a final presentation at the end of the program to showcase your work and lessons learned.
What you'll need#
- You are a college student entering your senior year, working toward a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher.
- A genuine interest in programming, software development, and IT systems.
- An expressed desire to work in the power industry.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Little Rock, Arkansas.
- The position is full-time for 10 to 12 weeks during Summer 2027.
- The work modality is on-site and hybrid, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- This is a paid internship. Note that we cannot provide visa or student-work authorization sponsorship for this position.
