About the role#
As a Transition Specialist Intern at Oriana House, you will work under direct supervision to support clients who were formerly incarcerated. You will help them navigate their return to the community by identifying needs and connecting them with essential services. This role is unpaid and requires on-site work in Cleveland, Ohio.
What you'll do#
- Administer self-assessments and problem identification sheets to clients.
- Identify specific needs regarding housing, mental health, substance abuse, and education.
- Coordinate with service providers to link clients to resources.
- Manage documentation in client case files and complete release of information forms.
- Advocate for clients when issues arise and follow up to verify services were received.
- Provide customer service to support a productive and therapeutic environment.
- Participate in team meetings and case reviews.
- Represent North Star NRRC at community events.
What you'll need#
- Ability to administer assessments and identify client needs.
- A customer service orientation and a team-focused mindset.
- Enrollment in fields such as Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or related areas.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- This position is based on-site in Cleveland, Ohio.
- The internship is unpaid and full-time.
- Hiring is conducted on a rolling basis.
