About the role#
The Terminal Operator Intern supports daily terminal operations while learning industry standards, safety practices, and equipment procedures. You will work under close supervision on tasks that are structured and routine. This role allows you to build foundational knowledge in product handling and facility operations while assisting experienced operators.
What you'll do#
- Support product measurement activities by assisting with gauging petroleum products transferred to and from tanks, trucks, rail cars, pipelines, and marine vessels.
- Learn and assist with valve lineups, switches, and tank changes required for the movement of petroleum products.
- Follow safety protocols and work alongside experienced operators to help prevent spills, contamination, and product loss.
- Input basic product or operational data into terminal automation systems.
- Participate in routine inspections, including tank checks and facility walkdowns, and help record findings.
- Assist with general facility upkeep, customer and driver interactions, and assigned project or administrative tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Power Plant Operator, Chemical Plant Operator, or related program.
- An interest in terminal operations and the energy industry.
- The ability to work outdoors and in varying environmental conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and use a personal computer for basic tasks.

- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
