About the role#
This internship is a summer 2027 opportunity with the Substation and Power Generation team. You will work on real-world projects to build your engineering skills. We are looking for two interns to join us for this full-time role.
What you'll do#
- Perform CAD design processes and follow technical standards.
- Assist with physical arrangement and protection for medium, high, and extra high voltage systems.
- Develop protection schemes and control wiring.
- Perform electrical studies, including fault force, load flow, and grounding safety analysis.
- Identify and isolate electrical faults.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and math skills.

- This is an on-site role based in Lincoln, Nebraska or Omaha, Nebraska.
- This is a paid internship.
