Overview: Kimley-Horn is looking for Electrical Engineering students to join our Long Beach, California (CA) office's Power Delivery team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities: Pre-Design EngineeringCoordination and verification of as-built drawingsPerform field investigations.Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines.Collaborate with team members regarding design coordination, schedules, and deliverables.Perform feasibility studies.Prepare schematic designs.Design EngineeringDesign of electrical systems including Ports & Harbors electrification, electric vehicle charging, and building electricalResponsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical design plans, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses.Participate on project teams in an active production roleDaily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplinesPerform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE.Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules.Design lighting selection and controls.Design normal, emergency, and renewable power systems.Perform Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies using ETAP and/or SKM
Qualifications: In the process of receiving an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering Degree (Bachelors or Masters)Hourly Range:$33 - $34
