About the role#
This position supports the daily operations of the library and learning commons at the Okanagan College Salmon Arm campus. You will work under direct supervision to assist with site maintenance, student support, and administrative tasks. This is a paid, part-time student role for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Perform basic maintenance of the library collection, including re-shelving and sorting materials.
- Help students navigate online services, student portals, and the learning management system.
- Maintain the cleanliness of student workstations and public desk areas.
- Provide basic printing assistance, such as replacing paper and toner.
- Issue student ID cards following established procedures.
- Count and record usage of library and learning commons spaces.
- Monitor equipment, take inventory of supplies, and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with end-of-shift tasks, including clearing spaces and turning off monitors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Okanagan College.
- Proficiency in following both oral and written instructions.
- Strong time management, writing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a library, IT, or customer service role is an asset.
- Attention to detail is essential for this position.
