About the role#
As an Apparel Design Intern, you will assist in the design and development of seasonal collections from concept to final sample. You will work alongside experienced designers and cross-functional partners to gain hands-on experience in the creative process. This role involves contributing to research, sketching, fabric sourcing, and building presentations.
What you'll do#
- Create mood boards, color palettes, and seasonal concept presentations.
- Support the design team with sketching, CADs, and technical packages.
- Source fabrics, trims, and inspiration materials for upcoming collections.
- Organize and maintain sample libraries, swatch books, and design archives.
- Participate in fittings, design reviews, and meetings with buying and production teams.
- Conduct trend and market research to support design direction.
- Prepare line sheets, spec sheets, and internal presentation materials.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- A strong interest in women’s fashion, youth culture, and the Urban Outfitters aesthetic.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Experience with CLO 3D or similar software is a plus.
- Excellent sketching and visual communication skills.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- A collaborative and curious mindset.
Location & details#
- This internship is based on-site in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- The program runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
