About the role#
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Vehicle Engineer Intern to join the Aeronautics Systems sector in the Aerostructures group. This is a full-time internship based in Iuka, Mississippi, for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
- Work from engineering drawings and both written and verbal instructions.
- Operate related equipment, conduct tests, and report data in a prescribed format.
- Perform calibration and alignment checks.
- Make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
- Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Graduation date after August 2027.
- Major in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another STEM field.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher is preferred.
- Previous internship or co-op experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, strong interpersonal communication skills, and involvement in professional or community activities are preferred.
