About the role#
This Manufacturing Engineer internship is located at our Space Systems Sector in San Diego, California. You will work within the Mission Enabling Products team on tasks related to space flight hardware. This is a full-time, paid position for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain equipment, components, and systems.
- Work directly from engineering drawings and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Operate manufacturing equipment and conduct tests.
- Report data in a prescribed format.
- Perform calibration and alignment checks.
- Make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
- Prepare specific compounds and solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in a STEM field, including Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace).
- You must be enrolled as a full-time student in Fall 2027.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher.
- Basic knowledge of 3D printing or robotics.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
