    About the role#

    This internship provides hands-on experience at a surface coal mine. You will work with our team to maintain and repair electrical systems that power our mining operations. The program is designed for students currently pursuing an associate or technical degree who have completed part of their coursework. We offer both 3-month and 15-month internship terms starting in May 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Repair electrical mining equipment and facilities.
    • Assist with electrical inspections on mine equipment.
    • Work with different voltage electrical systems.
    • Troubleshoot motor control circuits, PLC, and digital drive control systems.
    • Follow MSHA laws, company safety procedures, and environmental regulations.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an accredited electrical program with good academic standing.
    • Completed portion of college in an associated field of study.
    • Working knowledge of AC and DC circuits and electrical controls.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and understand electrical schematics.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather and handle rotating shifts.
    • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check and a Job Function Test.
    • Personal steel-toed shoes.

    • Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Full-time.
    • Compensation: $33.20 per hour.
