About the role#
This is a full-time internship at a surface lignite coal mine. You will gain hands-on experience working with our maintenance and operations teams. The program is open to students currently pursuing a degree who have not yet graduated. You can choose to join us for the summer or stay through the fall semester.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support to maintenance and operations departments.
- Focus on cost reductions and production increases by applying new technology and improved component designs to mining equipment.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive mechanical maintenance for major mining machinery.
- Ensure all work complies with MSHA laws, company safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Mechanical Engineering degree program.
- Completion of at least one year of your bachelor's degree.
- Good academic standing.
- Advanced knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and drafting software like AutoCAD.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information.

- Location: Beulah, North Dakota.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: May to August 2027 or May to December 2027.
- This role involves working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including at heights. You must be able to wear required personal protective equipment and operate company vehicles as needed.
