About the role#
This is a 4-month internship opportunity for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the mechanical engineering team in Ottawa to assist with the development and documentation of telecommunication products. This role is full-time and requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Assist mechanical engineers by reviewing and documenting material properties using 3D software and MS Office tools.
- Work alongside engineering professionals on daily tasks, including in-lab assembly of prototypes and preparing hardware documentation.
- Create and review mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings for internal and external use.
- Develop piece part designs and assemblies, including sheet metal, plastic, cast, and extrusions.
- Perform tolerance analysis and contribute to the development of software tools for the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- You are currently a candidate for a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills and are a self-driven, proactive team player.
- Experience with electronics packaging is an asset.
- A working knowledge of the CREO tool is an asset.
