About the role#
We are looking for a Data Engineer Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside experienced engineers on projects that support our enterprise software and data strategy. This is a paid, full-time internship designed for students who want hands-on experience with cloud technologies and scalable data solutions.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain data pipelines for analytics and application development.
- Contribute to data architecture using AWS and Databricks.
- Gather, clean, and transform data from various sources into usable formats.
- Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and product teams to understand data requirements.
- Use generative AI tools to improve productivity and problem-solving.
- Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and documentation efforts.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in Data Science, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Familiarity with SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Interest in cloud platforms like AWS and big data tools including Spark or Databricks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
- Modality: Hybrid. You will work from an office location between 3 and 5 days per week.
- Locations: Cedar Rapids, IA; Lake Saint Louis, MO; or Mandan, ND.
- Employment: This is a paid, full-time position. We do not provide sponsorship.
