About the role#
NISC is hiring a Software Development Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work with a Software Engineering Team Lead and collaborate with other developers to maintain and enhance our utility, broadband, financial, and operations software. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Research, design, and develop software systems.
- Analyze and resolve basic software maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the enhancement and maintenance of application programs.
- Follow established software development procedures and methodologies.
- Perform quality testing for unit and system integration.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with object-oriented concepts and languages.
- Familiarity with JavaScript and associated frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- This position is hybrid. You must be able to work from an office location at least 3 days per week, with the option to work up to 5 days per week.
- Office locations: Cedar Rapids, IA; Lake Saint Louis, MO; or Mandan, ND.
- This position does not offer sponsorship.
