    About the role#

    NISC is hiring a Software Development Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work with a Software Engineering Team Lead and collaborate with other developers to maintain and enhance our utility, broadband, financial, and operations software. This is a full-time, paid internship.

    What you'll do#

    • Research, design, and develop software systems.
    • Analyze and resolve basic software maintenance tasks.
    • Assist in the enhancement and maintenance of application programs.
    • Follow established software development procedures and methodologies.
    • Perform quality testing for unit and system integration.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Familiarity with object-oriented concepts and languages.
    • Familiarity with JavaScript and associated frameworks.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Location & details#

    • This position is hybrid. You must be able to work from an office location at least 3 days per week, with the option to work up to 5 days per week.
    • Office locations: Cedar Rapids, IA; Lake Saint Louis, MO; or Mandan, ND.
    • This position does not offer sponsorship.
