About the role#
WROC-TV and Rochesterfirst.com offer a part-time paid internship for undergraduate students through The New York State Broadcasters Association. This program provides an opportunity to see how a television station operates. You will gain experience across several departments.
What you'll do#
- Spend time in key departments including News Operations, Production and Creative Services, Digital Operations, and Technical and Engineering.
- Work a specified schedule with flexibility in hours.
- Adhere to business attire requirements while on-site.
What you'll need#
- You must be an undergraduate student.
- You must be at least 17 years of age.
- You must be a resident of New York State or currently attending school in New York.
- You must have your own transportation.
- Strong writing and communication skills are required.
- Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies is preferred.

- This position is located in Rochester, New York.
- The role is on-site and part-time.
- The pay rate is $16.00 per hour.
- Background checks are required for all interns.
